Description
Description: Stamped R.G.F (Royal Gun Factory) III 1903. Firing trigger of a large coastal gun - 6 inch 8 inch or 16 inch - as used on Spike Island and other harbour forts in Ireland. The gunner would place the pistol looking trigger into the firing mechanism and squeeze safety (back) and pull trigger. It was then removed while the gun was reloaded, so there would be no accidental firing.
Condition
Very good in fitted wooden box.
