Note: After graduating from the RA Schools in 1927 where he studied Painting and Drawing; Walter Sickert being his most influential instructor, Hall travelled to Paris, studying briefly with André Lhote at his studio near the Gare Montparnasse. Early solo exhibitions from 1929 to the mid 1930s were held at The St. Martin's Gallery, The Leger Gallery and Beaux Art Gallery in London. Hall was known for urban scenes as well as portraiture, having 'How To Paint Portraits' by Clifford Hall published in 1932. He had numerous solo exhibitions in London throughout his career and exhibited across the UK and as far afield as Australia.

Condition
Some warping of the canvas upper right and lower right. There are no signs of cracking or flaking. Some surface dust visible. Otherwise good condition.
