Note: Patrick Carroll was a Dundalk based artist, credited by Christy Brown, author of My Left Foot, with teaching him to paint.This poster design is thought to date to 1961 which was the 1500th anniversary of the death of Saint Patrick in AD461, and was named "Patrician Year" by the Roman Catholic Church. The year saw many comemorative events, both religious and secular, including the pageant advertised in this work.
