Title: GETTING TO BANGOR, COUNTY DOWN
Note: This charming plein air oil sketch with its unusual and most probably early signature, was formerly in the collection of Margaret Rutherford, who was herself an artist, friendly with many of the Northern Irish artists such as Craig and J. W. Carey whose works she collected. Rutherford studied at the Slade at the turn of the last century and exhibited with the Belfast Art Society (later the RUA) between the years 1926-1938.
