Description
Title: EMBROIDERED PANEL, FISA PLAYING HIS HARP
Note: This work shows a male and a female figure standing in front of a branching tree (the 'harp') under a crowned eagle, with a skull and other symbols below. Probably executed for W.B. Yeats by his sister as a commission, perhaps using some of his Nobel Prize money (1923). Presumably the subject had some special significance for Yeats (the eagle was one of his mystical symbols).
